SOLAR

When contemplating the use of a solar electric photovoltaic system, it is important to assess how much energy in theory the system can produce according to location, orientation, and plant conversion efficiency. Employing a performance monitoring system is a must for being able to account for energy produced by a system in real time, and to ensure the forecast conversion efficiency will remain intact over its service life.

From a Solar Energy point of view, it is important to examine how the overall data acquisition is performed, starting at the DC level. Here, string combiner boxes designed for PV installations have built-in string probe units that measure the values of DC current voltage and power.

The following are the tasks involved for the Functional process flow in measuring and monitoring the solar power generation from photovoltaic system. The details of these tasks will be defined in the above additional documentation:

  • Measuring the Voltage, Current and Power from DC and AC level via RTU.

  • Configuring the network to connect the RTU to Measure, Display and record in SCADA System through Ethernet TCP/IP.

  • Configuring Reports to View Live and Historical data of Solar Generation.

SCADA SOFTWARE

SCADA system offers live & historical data monitoring of String monitor Units, MFM meters & Weather monitoring station&control the LT & HT breaker ON and OFF through SCADA. As mentioned in architecture SCADA system has two separate control and monitoring system. User can Monitor and control all field device input and output in two separate SCADA system

The ability to quickly visualize the situation and navigate to a more detailed screen is essential when monitoring an alarm condition. With web browser style navigation buttons, you can quickly navigate to previous screens or select a specific screen from the history list.

Features

  • Define tags and graphic objects and displays once and reference them throughout a distributed system.

  • Share data and integrate seamlessly with other FactoryTalk enabled products. The FactoryTalk Services Platform provides common services such as security, alarming and diagnostics across products.

  • Directly accessing tag information in the controller, eliminating the need to create HMI tags.

  • Changes to a running system with remote, multi-user configuration capability.

  • Maximize system availability with built-in failure detection and recovery.

  • Robust client-side scripting to extend applications for your specific needs.

  • Real-time and historical trending with built-in connectivity to SQL Data Base.

  • Audit trail of operator and alarm information in a centralized log database.

  • Built-in library of over 5000 pre-designed graphical symbols.

Benefits

  • Easy to understand display screens help the operator quickly assess the situation and navigate the system.

  • View and interact with alarm conditions throughout the integrated architecture with easy-to-use graphical alarm objects.

  • System-wide diagnostics report, route and store information about events that happened in a system and provide a system wide diagnostic solution for determining root cause of an issue.

  • Mobile HMI provides continuous system visibility any time.

  • Highly reliable client and server communication.

  • Optimized communications with the Logix family of controllers.

  • Easy connectivity options for non-Logix and 3rd-party controllers.

  • Common users and security configuration throughout all FactoryTalk-based products.

  • Fast and reliable access to data in the Logix family of controllers.
